Christmas Trees and Toddlers

Last Christmas Bean was 7 months old, we were crammed in a one bedroom apartment while waiting on our home to be finished being built, and the only Christmas decoration we had up was a 4ft fake tree. Being so young, and the tree up high, and crappy-ish, our observant crawler didn't pay much attention to it.

This year my Christmas fanatic husband bought an almost 10ft real tree for our new home. Hubs loves his classic white lights, I love my colored lights. The first years of our marriage we had a compromise - he got to do his white lights everywhere, and when we had kids he got to do all white lights (if he so chose to) outside to decorate the house, and the color lights go on our big family tree! So, not only is this big, forest smelling tree covered in attractive colored lights but it also has a bunch of eclectic ornaments all over it. Toddler paradise!

Now I'm constantly finding random ornaments all over the floor. And yes, we put the fragile ones way up high where she can't reach them. Her favorite ornament is one my husband got me two years ago. It's Winnie-the-Pooh and Piglet baking cookies, they talk and move and it even smells like the somethings in the oven. Seriously, it does! Bean loves taking them off the tree and sitting on the couch with her two friends and listen to their conversations.

Pooh: Into the oven you go, cookie dough. And out you come, yum yum yum!
