Designing Bean's Toddler Room

So I've pretty much decided on almost everything for Bean's toddler room, that I first briefly posted about here. I have a Pinterest board dedicated to it, which you can browse here. Today I'm going to share with you some of the main points of the room that I've pinned. Unfortunately, I haven't gotten anything started on it yet. We're saving for flights halfway across the country for our friend's wedding, which is where any extra spending money is going towards right now. Hopefully, soon, I'll be able to start buying it piece by piece.

The room's colors are going to be Teal, and Pink, and there's going to be a fair amount of chevron! The walls will be muted/pale teal, or light blue. Except one wall will be an accent wall painted with light pink chevrons on it. The colors will be similar to this room by Just A Girl Blog.

I wanted a room that would be able to grow with her from toddler room, to big girl room. This way I can easily change out the pink, if Bean ends up being a tom boy who would prefer orange, or green. There will be touches of pink and pink chevron around the room, again so it can be easily changed in a few years, like these pillows from Honey Pie Design on Etsy, which will live on the rocking chair in her room.

Another idea I love is the eclectic frames with photos and quotes on the wall, like in this photo by Project Nursery. I'm going to start at Salvation Army and Good Will to find frames to spray paint. The frames will be bright, vivid colors of pink and teal, and different corresponding shades.

This is one of the quote prints I will be using on that wall. I sing this song to her all the friggin' time! I made this print and it was inspired by one made by Doddle Graphics. If you're interested in purchasing a copy of this print, please contact me about pricing.

I'm planning on making my own bedsheets, pink and teal chevron patterns of course. And buying this chevron blanket from Little Hip Squeaks on Etsy. I'm also planning on DIYing a similar mobile to this adorable one made by Janie Girl Crafts, also on Etsy. I may or may not be obsessed with it's cuteness. I'm planning on hanging it in the corner by the toddler bed.

So there you have it! The main ideas that are inspiring my little girls toddler room. I hope you enjoyed this sneak peak, and I promise to keep you updated once things get moving to creating this masterpiece! I'm still on the hunt for the perfect toy storage for this room. I might have to convince my husband to drive to our (not so) local Ikea to take a looksie.

I would love to hear your ideas, or thoughts, about designing a room for toddlers. Also, I would love to hear how your child's room is decorated! :)
