As you all probably know we still bed-share with Bean, and last night one of the sweetest moments ever happened. Bean in no way sleeps through the night. She wakes up anywhere from 6-2 times per night depending on teething. It's no big deal to me, she doesn't stay awake, we switch positions, I give her a boob, and we're both back to sleep within 30 seconds. It works for us. Last night... something very different, and unexpected happened.
It was the second time she woke up, she made some loud stretching noises and rolled over to face me while lying on her side, I was faking sleep. She reached one of her not-as-chubby arms out and started petting me, rubbing my arm and chest up and down. Then she reached her precious little hand behind my neck and pulled me in close to her for a hug (This grab&hug is a new thing she's started to do over the past few weeks). I rolled onto my side and put my arm around her and snuggled into the hug. She then pressed my head onto her forehead and sighed with content. I made a sly smile and whispered "I love you" she whispered back "da ba" which I will assume means love you in baby babble. Then we fell asleep embraced in this hug that my sweet little bean instigated.
Made my heart melt. Seriously, one of the sweetest moments I've ever had. If we didn't bed share, I would've never gotten to experience it. I am so blessed!
