No Sew Accent Pillow Makeover

When I saw this one Pinterest, I knew I had to give it a whirl. We found some unstttractive accent pillows that I had hoarded, just in case we needed them again, from Target, picked out some fabric and got to work. Leanne at Organize and Decorate Everything has the tutorial that I used, and now I'll share what I did, and found out, with you!

It's really simple, I promise! First you pick out the square pillow you want to use, I suspect you could use oval or round, but the sides will be bunchier, than with the square shape. Then you pick out the fabric you want to cover it with. Pretty simple so far, right? Right!

This is where I had to do it a bit differently than the tutorial. She recommends using a piece of fabric that's two twice as tall, and three times s long. Doing so ended up being too short for me. I did it with two and a half as tall, three and a half as long, and it worked but barely. Next one I do I'll make it's four times as long. You can always trim the excess t the end if you want, but I think it'll be easier with more fabric to work with.
So you fold the top down, and then the bottom up. You want the bottom piece to hit half way up the pillow. Then the sides you will fold them into a point. The 'wrapping a present' simile that Leanne used is fairly accurate. Then you fold the point on top of each other and knot it into a square knot, and tuck the ends under. It's as simple as it sounds. Like I said, I think it would've been easier with a little more fabric to work with, but that was the only thing I stumbled upon while making it.

  11. How do you tie a square knot? It looks so easy until the part with the knot. LOL

    1. It's just a fancy term that means knot it twice. I had to pull the edges of the knot to give it the square look that it has. :)
