Time To Work On Me

This quote has been floating around facebook, pinterest, you name it - it's been there recently.
Granted, I don't have a son... but if I did I'd would be honored if he turned out to be a man like my husband is. So it got me thinking, I want my husband to feel the same way about me and our daughter. How would I feel if she turned out like me?

I become more jaded and hateful (for lack of a better word) with each year of my life. I can get along with almost everyone, and have a great shoulder for friends to cry on. I am an awesome friend, but an aggressive driver when I'm in the city. I have a foul mouth, and a quick fuse. Hey, I'm an aries, AND a redhead... I'm genetically programmed to snap! haha. I would love for Bean to pick up the majority of my habits and personality traits, but there are some that I don't want her to develop either.

I know my husband would be proud of her, and me, if she turned out exactly as I am now. I would be too. I'd be more proud of both of us, if we both turned out even better than that though. Time to work on it, time to work on me for the benefit of my daughter.

  1. I've been thinking a lot about this too. I want to be the best person that I can possibly be and have my daughter look up to me. I want her to be proud of the person that I am and strive to be like me. I have things to work on too, and it's time to do it!

  3. I would be proud of my daughter if she turned out like me too.. but there are some things that I would like to work on too. And nows the time because they are little sponges. Thanks for the encouragement!

  4. This is a great question, I have not seen it before so it made me think really hard and deep into my feelings. I do have a son and I also have a daughter and I'd like it if she turned out like me, however I would want her to be more confident and have higher self esteem as a teenager than I was.
